Mindcamp 2009 Program
Stress and Energy Management for Trainers in Creativity
90-minute session | Nathalie Bergeron-Duval
Training is tiring and can even become stressful but facilitating a creative session is even more so because we deal with a necessary amount of chaos, emotions, behavioral issues; learning how to better manage one's level of energy and stress will allow a better and happier performance as a facilitator and a sharper consciousness of the group's level of energy and stress, and how to cope with it.
I'll use "sophrology" (or sophrologie in French!) both a physical and a mental relaxation method. Created in France in 1960 by Doctor Caycedo, it is a synthetic adaptation to the western way of living of various existing relaxation methods coming from European and Far Eastern traditions (Jacobson and Schultz trainings, the self-suggesting Coué approach, Yoga, Zen, hypnosis, chi-gong...). A sophrology session creates a state of physical relaxation through easy dynamic relaxation movements, breathing and visualization technics. It increases self-awareness,induces a state of deep mental relaxation and well being. It is a quick way to restore energy, a powerful tool to use stress in a positive way, develops intuition, creativity and happiness!
Three things you will get:
1.Learn how stress works in our body and mind
2.Learn effective tools to fight stress and quickly restore energy
3.Use the state of deep relaxation to prepare an event and perform better

49 years old, I live in Paris, have worked two years in the USA, am fluent in English. I'm a consultant in communication/creativity and a certified practitioner in sophrology (a French relaxation method) trained at the professional school CEAS (Centre d'Etudes et d'Applications de la Sophrologie, Paris). I've co-founded 5 years ago with 2 colleagues "Sense for Business," an original concept of corporate symposiums mixing relaxation methods with creativity.
I'm also an artist creating mixed-technique paintings and collages (see my work on www.bergeronduval.com) with regular exhibitions.
I've published in France in 2008 a practical book giving tips on how to relax everywhere in the daily life: in a crowded metro, in a line at the post office or supermarket, in a boring business meeting, on a plane... using sophrology and shiatsu ("Les Cartes de la détente-minute" — Tredaniel Editeur).
I've attended the creativity meetings of Sestri in Italy and Crea-Université in Paris for the past 4 years.
